Ecomusée du Maraîchage

The ecomuseum, which exhibits a collection of more than 1500 tools, attests to the ingenuity of the gardeners who over the years have transformed the marsh into a lush garden. It tells the story of the evolution of market gardening activities, from ploughing with a spade to the mechanized cultivation of today. In the monumental dovecote, the exhibition “from ploughing to soup” evokes the preparation of the soil, the sowing and planting, the weeding, etc…). In the vegetable garden, one can discover vegetables from the region, some almost forgotten like the “giraumon brodé d’Eysines” but also aromatic and medicinal plants. Conservatory of gardening know-how including a discovery path.
