Le Cap-Ferret

In spite of its fame, Cap-Ferret has kept its original charm and a wild quietude that Jean Cocteau already appreciated.

On the Bassin d’Arcachon side, calm waters allow children to swim in complete safety and to collect clams at low tide.

On the Atlantic side, the ocean beaches of Grand-Crohot, Truc Vert and Horizon welcome surfers and sport fishing lovers.

Children will appreciate the Little Train that links the tip of Cap-Ferret (departure at Bélisaire jetty) to the ocean (+33 5 56 60 62 57).

And if you want to cross the “Bassin” to see the city opposite, it is possible every day in summer. A shuttle bus makes the crossing Cap-Ferret/Arcachon every hour from 09:00 to 19:00, every 30 minutes from 14:00 to 19:00. Nocturnes from 20:30 to 00:30 (+33 6 25 16 33 16)

Another discovery not to be missed, the ascent of the 258 steps of the lighthouse of Cap-Ferret, to embrace with the glance the whole of the Basin of Arcachon, the dune of Pilat and the Atlantic Ocean; guaranteed amazement!
